In addition to promoting a motivating and spirited working environment, we want to provide our personnel with opportunities for continuous training and personal growth. We offer attractive career opportunities with lots of opportunities for advancement.
As a company we are proud to have participated and being top ranked four times in the Best Workplaces in Finland (Great Place to Work®) and we also won the Competence Developer of the Year -award for 2007.
We have grown and intensily developed our Competence Development process, practices and possibilities. The Competence Areas of Nice people can be divided as follows:
- Technical competencies
o Business Application Technologies
o User Experience, Concepting & Design and Cross Platform Technologies
o Mobile Platforms and Applications and Mobile Test Platform Technologies
- Software engineering
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Project Management
- Service Management
- IT & Process Consultancy
Each Nice Competence Area has a designated Competence Area Owner responsible for the Competence Area in question, as well as it’s development in Nice.
One of the very basis of Nice Competence Development is Professional Communities. Professional Communities are built around Competence Areas. Targets for Professional Communities are:
- Internal networking, coaching and sparring in a specific competence area
- Sharing of experience and competence
- Sharing of experience and briefing about attended trainings, seminars and other competence development events
- Sharing of experience on customer projects and assignments – best practices, lessons learnt, tools and technologies etc.
- External networking in the specific competence area – professional forums & groups
- Contributing in Nice’s process and offering development.
All Nice and Nico employees are welcome to join Professional Community activities.
Training has a big role in Nice’s Competence Development. Nice employees are encouraged to participate in different courses organized by Nice and Fujitsu Finland. Just a couple of example areas:
- Service Managers can participate ITILv3 Foundation or even Expert level courses,
- Project Managers can participate Prince2 or Cobit courses,
- Specialist can participate to some “fancy new technical stuff” –course,
and then there are some company level, large scale training organized for larger audiences together with the trainers.
Nice employees may even participate in training when having an ongoing customer assignment, but of course with the permission of the customer and only during a non-critical phase of the project.
Attending to courses means usual certifications. We have plenty of those – you name it! ITILv2, ITILv3, IPMA, PRINCE2, COBIT, ISEB, Scrum Master, SOA, TOGAF9… and of course if you have one already you only need to update your knowledge every now and then :-)
Highly skilled and certified Nice Professionals are key to why customers are happy with us!
Mentoring is a process in which the more experienced party (mentor) is giving guidance to the less experienced (mentee) in achieving his/her development goals both professionally and on a personal level. In a mentoring relationship, both parties learn from each other and gain new insights into their work.
Mentoring is a flexible, individualized and cost effective method of competence development. Whichever is your role, mentor or mentee, the process will enhance your competence.
And in Nice we do not leave it there. Coaching continues where Mentoring may stop. With Coaching, the target is not the individual, but the performance. Coaching is done in teams and there are always some related tasks. We want to grow with you!
